About this simulation
A simple machine (like an inclined plane) multiplies force at the cost of moving farther. The mechanical advantage MA = d_in / d_out tells you how much the machine multiplies your effort: a gentle slope (large d_in, small d_out) gives a large MA, so you push with less force over a longer distance to raise the same load. Students can change ramp length and height gained and compare what happens. Use it for physics inquiry with Grades 3–4, Middle School, and High School on a projector or student device.
