Human Body Systems Interactive Simulation
Science · Human Body Systems · Grades 3–5 and Middle School
About this simulation
The human body is a collection of organ systems that work together. The circulatory system pumps blood; the respiratory system exchanges gases; the digestive system extracts energy from food; the skeletal system provides structure; and the nervous system coordinates everything. No system works in isolation — they constantly communicate and depend on each other. Students can change body system and compare what happens. Use it for biology inquiry with Grades 3–5 and Middle School on a projector or student device.
Standards: NGSS MS-LS1-3, 4-LS1-1
What students can explore
- Why the heart must beat continuously to keep the circulatory system running
- How the respiratory and circulatory systems work together to deliver oxygen to every cell
- What happens in each stage of digestion as food moves through the body
- How bones protect soft organs and enable movement by working with muscles
- How the brain sends electrical signals through nerves to control muscles and senses
Learning objectives
- 1Predict how changing body system will affect the visible outcome, then test the prediction.
- 2Use evidence from the interactive visual to explain the result.
