Today Schedule gives a teacher a practical starting point for the school day, but it is a priority view, not an automatic planner. It follows the organization’s local date and time, opens on the relevant current day and week, and presents the schedule data available to the signed-in teacher. What appears still depends on role, organization configuration, class and curriculum assignments, enabled modules, and available records.

The board reconciles two schedule sources. Published recurring timetable slots keep the expected weekly pattern visible. Dated scheduled occurrences represent a particular slot on a particular local date and can carry live status or attendance identity. When both describe the same slot and date, the dated occurrence wins. A partly generated week therefore should not hide the teacher’s other valid recurring classes.

Teacher-owned bell blocks marked as lesson periods are not classes by themselves. An empty block from schedule editing stays out of the lesson feed until a recurring class slot or dated occurrence gives it teaching context. Rows are ordered by start time, so the selected day reads in classroom sequence instead of creation order.

Check what each row can reliably tell you

A lesson row can show its start and end time, class, curriculum, and school when those fields are available. On the organization-local current day, the interface highlights the class happening now or the next upcoming class. Attendance wording is shown only when the authoritative occurrence status can be read; the board avoids presenting a false missing-register warning when that service is unavailable.

A class filter may be offered in configurations that enable it. Selecting one narrows class rows, while authorized whole-school calendar events can remain visible. Calendar events are appended after lesson and activity rows for the chosen day. They come from the session-bound calendar view, respect organization, school, and class scope, and remain static event information rather than opening lesson planning or attendance.

Opening an assigned class row brings its date, time, class, curriculum, and scheduled occurrence into the lesson-detail context. The lesson shown must still be one the teacher is allowed to see. An extracurricular or calendar row does not impersonate that action.

Follow a deliberate start-of-day workflow

1. Confirm that Today Schedule is showing the organization-local current day and intended week.
2. Scan the time-ordered rows and identify the highlighted current or next class.
3. Check the class, curriculum, school, and time before acting.
4. Use the class filter only when it is available and useful for the day’s review.
5. Read any authorized calendar events after the lesson list, noting that they are informational.
6. Open the assigned class row, verify the lesson detail, and continue only within your permitted context.
