Explore House fly body parts in an interactive 3D model. Rotate, select labels, learn each part’s role, and play a matching game for primary science. Head: The head carries the eyes, antennae, and mouthparts. A house fly uses soft sponging mouthparts to take in liquid food. Compound eyes: The two large eyes contain many tiny viewing units. They help the fly detect light and quick movements around it. Antennae: The two short antennae help the fly detect smells. Each has a fine, bristly extension called an arista. Thorax: The middle body region carries all six legs, the two wings, and the halteres. A house fly has four dark lengthwise stripes here. Abdomen: The segmented rear region contains many organs for digestion, reproduction, and other life processes. Wings: A house fly has one pair of functional wings. Veins support the thin wing surfaces during flight. Legs: Six jointed legs help the fly walk and land. Tiny claws and sticky foot pads help it grip many surfaces. Halteres: These two small knobs sit behind the wings. They move during flight and help the fly sense rotation and keep its balance.
Drag to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom, and select a body part to read its name and function. The labelled list also supports keyboard navigation.
Choose Match labels. Connect each label to its matching dot on the model. Drag a line, or tap a label and then a dot. Correct connections stay visible until every label is matched.
This is a simplified model for learning the main external parts. It does not show every structure, internal anatomy, or natural variation.
