This simulation connects stored elastic energy with projectile motion. The stretched band holds half k d squared, which becomes the bird's kinetic energy on release, so launch speed rises with stretch and falls with mass. Sliders change band stiffness and bird mass, a toggle shows the predicted arc, and a button rebuilds the towers. Readouts show launch angle, launch speed, band energy, range with peak and targets hit. Teachers can use it to compare energy stored and energy gained, and to find the best angle.
Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up, and runs in any modern browser, including whiteboards, tablets and phones.
The stored energy is half k d squared and turns into kinetic energy half m v squared, giving v equals d times the square root of k over m. Pull twice as far and the bird leaves twice as fast.
Drag the bird back in the pouch, use the dotted arc to see where it will go, and release. Press Rebuild towers to reset the targets.
Over level ground with no air drag, 45 degrees gives the longest range. Higher or lower angles land the bird closer.

A smooth coaster track runs through glowing control points. Students drag points up and down to reshape hills, press Release cart, and see whether the cart can clear every hill below the yellow energy line.

A basketball court shows the free throw line, hoop and a dotted aim arc. Students drag the ball backward to set launch angle and power, release to shoot, and read speed, peak height and streak.

An archery range with a target 20 meters away lets students drag the bowstring back to set power and aim, then loose six arrows while allowing for gravity, drag and a crosswind.

A diving board hangs over a pool at three meters. Students drag the fulcrum roller or the diver along the board, click the diver or press Enter to jump, and time pushes with the board's bounce.
