Tic-Tac-Toe 3D

Sobre esta simulación

This game extends tic-tac-toe into a 3x3x3 cube with 49 winning lines. Students click a glass cell to place an X while the computer answers at Easy, Normal or Sharp level, and they can drag empty space to turn the cube and see cells behind others. Readouts show whose turn it is, the score for you, the computer and draws, the move number and open threats. Teachers can use it for spatial reasoning and strategy talks about which positions are on the most lines.

Qué pueden explorar los alumnos

  • Click a glass cell to place your X, then drag empty space to turn the cube and check every line.
  • Take the center cell first and notice that it lies on more winning lines than any other.
  • Watch the Open threats readout and block the computer when it shows a threat.
  • Switch Computer from Easy to Sharp and compare how often you win.
  • Use Undo move to test a different choice, and widen Cell spacing to reach hidden cells.

Objetivos de aprendizaje

  1. 1Identify winning lines along axes, faces and space diagonals.
  2. 2Use spatial reasoning to track cells in three dimensions.
  3. 3Compare opening moves by the number of lines they control.
  4. 4Anticipate an opponent's threat and choose a block.

Preguntas frecuentes de los docentes

Is the Tic-Tac-Toe 3D simulation free to use?

Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up, and works in any modern browser on whiteboards, tablets, phones and computers.

How many winning lines are in a 3x3x3 cube?

There are 49: 27 along the axes, 18 face diagonals and 4 space diagonals. The center cell sits on 13 of them, more than any other cell.

How do I see cells behind others?

Drag empty space to turn the cube. Occupied cells are removed from the click targets, so you can also click through to cells behind marks. Widening Cell spacing helps too.

Who wins with perfect play?

The first player wins with perfect play by taking the center cell, which is why the computer's Sharp level is the toughest to beat.
