About this simulation
The lungs fill and empty as the chest changes volume. Breathing rate and the air moved in each breath together set how much air the lungs move every minute, and deep slow breaths move more than fast shallow ones. Students can change breathing rate and breath depth and compare what happens. Use it for biology inquiry with Grades 4–5, Middle School, and High School on a projector or student device.
