Explore Honey bee body parts in an interactive 3D model. Rotate, select labels, learn each part’s role, and play a matching game for primary science. Head: The head carries the eyes, antennae, and mouthparts. A worker uses these to explore flowers and collect food. Antennae: The two antennae help the bee smell and touch. They also detect signals from other bees. Compound eyes: The two large compound eyes help the bee see colours and movement. Bees also have three small simple eyes on top of the head, omitted from this model. Thorax: The middle body region carries six legs and four wings. Inside it, strong muscles power flight. Abdomen: This segmented rear body region contains many internal organs. Its small breathing openings connect to air tubes inside the body. Wings: A honey bee has two larger forewings and two smaller hindwings. The pairs work together to help it fly. Legs: Six jointed legs help the bee walk and clean itself. Worker honey bees carry packed pollen in special areas on their hind legs.
Drag to rotate, scroll or pinch to zoom, and select a body part to read its name and function. The labelled list also supports keyboard navigation.
Choose Match labels. Connect each label to its matching dot on the model. Drag a line, or tap a label and then a dot. Correct connections stay visible until every label is matched.
This is a simplified model for learning the main external parts. It does not show every structure, internal anatomy, or natural variation.
